Why do we selectively pick and choose verses from The Holy Scriptures? I suppose there are as
many reasons for that as there are verses in the Bible itself. In 2004 a major reason must be
pressure for time. Man has always worked against a deadline, imposed by God, it is the span of a
man's lifetime. It's not what God had in mind when He created man but He gave man free will
and one instruction. Do not eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, for in that day you
will surely die. We can prove without fear of being challenged that everyone of God's Promises
throughout the history of man have come true. Bible prophecies are specific promises to occur at
specified times. Sometimes specified by God and not known by man but always extremely specific
and extremely precise. What follows is a list of our favorite Passages, Promises and Prophecies of
God and their impact on man. Keep in mind that all of God's Prophecies except those involving
the End-Times have already been fulfilled. That is not so with Promises, because promises are
ongoing. He has promised to redeem my soul. That promise continues far into eternity.
This is a difficult task at best. Who am I to pick and choose among what God has had to say to
man? Is the very smallest verse less important than Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible? "I
thirst" were two of the last words Christ spoke on the cross. Insignificant? Hardly! But we will
attempt this to help the new convert to Christianity. We invite you to study the WHOLE Word
and not just our idea of what's best. But until you get your own list going of God's Promises to
You perhaps ours will do. May the Holy Spirit Bless these Promises and apply them to your heart
and mind and soul. They bring the Peace that Passes All Understanding, it truly is like a healing
salve or as the Psalmist put it, the Balm of Gilead...
PEACE TO THOSE WHO ENTER + + + + + SALVATION TO THOSE WHO LEAVE
God says, His paths are beyond man's tracing out...
Can the clay vessel know the intentions of the Potter?
These are the Gems of The Bible, diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires all nestled among
solid rocks of gold...
Store your treasure in Heaven... for where your heart is that is where you will be also...
The word-for-word is:
Matthew 6:19-21
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and
where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
You meant for evil but God meant it for good...
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...
We are joint heirs with Jesus...
Take up your cross and follow me...
Allow the Little Children to come to me, for this is what the Kingdom of Heaven is made of.
Cash or Christ, choose now whom you will serve... [severely paraphrased]
The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil... Jesus speaking
Love your enemy as you love yourself...
Go into all the world and spred the Good News... Jesus' Great Commission
In my Father's house there are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you...
I shall return for you... if it wasn't so I would tell you so...
Whisper of Hope, Faith, Love, Charity, Compassion, Grace, Mercy; for these are the eternal
things...
He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep for something he can never lose...
One of my favorite images is the Kneeling Santa, Santa in a nativity scene on one knee, hat in
hand, kneeling at the crude wooden feed trough that was a baby's cradle. It was his Master, his
Lord, his Savior, it was God come to earth in the form of baby. Born in a humble stable He was
and is The King of Kings. Wise men still seek Him...
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace.
Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord...
It was the birth day of a king...
Live more simply so others may simply live...
