"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long

"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant

blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in

magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not

to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

"I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or
catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid,

more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk

my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that

which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit."

"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather

than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly,

talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all

cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and

unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony."

William Henry Channing

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go

Harold Whitman

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you

before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me

hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or

bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more

than all the world, your return."

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply

because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found

written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your

teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many

generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason

and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

One SONG can spark a moment
One FLOWER can wake the dream
One TREE can start a forest
One BIRD can herald spring

One VOTE can change a nation
One SUNBEAM lights a room
One CANDLE wipes out darkness
One LAUGH will conquer gloom
One STEP must start each journey
One WORD must start a prayer
One HOPE will raise our spirits
One TOUCH can show you care
One VOICE can speak with wisdom
One HEART can know what is true
One LIFE can make a difference.

Books Quotes

After awhile you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept
your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine
burns if you get too much so you plant your
own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...

“It is not length of life, but depth of life.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson
American Poet
Books Quotes

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

We leave you a tradition of the future. The tender loving care of human beings will never become

obsolete.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, redeemed and

redeemed and redeemed. Never throw anyone away.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.

As you grow older, you'll discover that you have two hands: One for helping yourself, the second

for helping others.

You have great days still ahead of you. May there be many of them.

Moments in Life

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one,
which has been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream;
go where you want to go;
be what you want to be,
because you have only one life
and one chance to do all the things
you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and
enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until
you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

The Greatest Gift of All is Our Love and Our Heart...

When you have given those things you have given all that is humanly
or for that matter divinely possible...

I believe God's Love for us is the greatest gift He could give and He did,
one bright, shiney, cold December morn in Bethlehem...

And you shall call His name Immanuel, for He shall save His people...

Perhaps that's why God's greatest command to us is to love one another...
He loved us enough to create us in His own image. Then to redeem fallen
man He came to earth and died for our sins. He also sustains our every breath.
And He has prepared a new home to live forever with Him. You just cannot
outgive or outlove the Lord. God is Love. He is also Truth and Beauty. He
deserves out total devotion, our total attention, our total love...

Love in Jesus,
May God Touch Each of Your Lives

Would I be better off if the whole world loved me and Jesus passed me by?

Bill King (b.1948 - )

When I walk and talk with Jesus I feel as though I'm in Heaven already.

- Walter Elias Disney

"When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his

popularity."
- Walter Elias Disney

"He popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to

Hollywood at a time when business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb and

disaster seemed right around the corner."
- Walter Elias Disney

"Born of necessity, the little fellow literally freed us of immediate worry. He provided the means

for expanding our organization to its present dimensions and for extending the medium cartoon

animation towards new entertainment levels. He spelled production liberation for us."
- Walter Elias Disney

"We felt that the public, and especially the children, like animals that are cute and little. I think

we are rather indebted to Charlie Chaplin for the idea. We wanted something appealing, and we

thought of a tiny bit of a mouse that would have something of the wistfulness of Chaplin- a little

fellow trying to do the best he could."
- Walter Elias Disney

"The life and ventures of Mickey Mouse have been closely bound up with my own personal and

professional life. It is understandable that I should have sentimental attachment for the little

personage who played so big a part in the course of Disney Productions and has been so happily

accepted as an amusing friend wherever films are shown around the world. He still speaks for me

and I still speak for him."
- Walter Elias Disney

With the rush and flutter of angel wings
My prayers float silently up to God.
- Bill King

A dream is woven from thin air and nothing,
Embroidered with wishes and everything,
then filled with the padding of hope and delight.

I will believe what
I believe until death,
Then living once more
I will know what

- Bill King

Choose your beliefs as carefully as you
choose your earthly treasures
and then you can never be poor.
- Bill King

Daily I compose
a symphony in my mind
that changes with each playing,
But God has written
the melody, harmony and
lyrics in my heart,
Here they are still,
constantly at rest and
cannot be changed.
- Bill King

A memory is a wish
cast adrift on a sea of dreams,
It’s the silky wings of hope
traveling aloft on the breeze of possibilities.
A memory is the world as
you want it to be,
A vision of some cherished moment
no one else can see.
- Bill King

Stars are the gleam, glitter and glimmer
in God’s eyes.
- Bill King

A sunbeam bouncing off a drop of dew,
The gleam in a child’s eye
The twinkle of a particularly bright star,
The tear stained cheek of a mother praying for her children,
And the ripple formed by a droplet of rain in a puddle,
All of these combine to form the Glitter in the Eyes of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To Everything There Is A Season
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is

planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a

time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Isaiah 53:3
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: ...

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of

our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath

laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 66
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the

house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? ...
3 ...Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called,

none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose

that in which I delighted not.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that

cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy,

and they shall be ashamed. ...
10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all

ye that mourn for her:
11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out,

and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, ...
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in

Jerusalem.
14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, ...
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, ...
16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD

shall be many. ...
18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and

tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. ...
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith

the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to

another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against

me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an

abhorring unto all flesh.

bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call

Exodus 3
1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock

to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush:

and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of

the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon

thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the

God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and

have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up

out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the

place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites,

and the Jebusites.
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen

the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my

people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring

forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent

thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this

mountain.
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto

them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name?

what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the

children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the

LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath

sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

word, it was considered that holy.]

eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand

on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the

knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Luke 2:1-20
The Nativity of Jesus Christ
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all

the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of

David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be

delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him

in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their

flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about

them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,

which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying

in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and

saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said

one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass,

which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them

concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard

and seen, as it was told unto them.

The 23rd Psalm
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art

with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head

The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against

the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the

evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of

righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of

Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy

people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to

that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found

written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and

some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many

to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many

shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of

the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long

shall it be to the end of these wonders?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up

his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be

for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the

holy people, all these things shall be finished.
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these

things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none

of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that

maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the

days.

Revelation 12
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon

under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven

heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the

dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon

as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child

was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they

should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the

dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which

deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the

kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down,

which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and

they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth

and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that

he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which

brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the

wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the

face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause

her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the

flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her

seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the

light are both alike to thee.

Proverbs 25:11
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

1 Corinthians 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as

sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and

though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,

and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed

up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues,

they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when

I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then

shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Psalm 121:1-8
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for

evermore.

Numbers 6:24-26
Pastoral Blessing
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are

just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good

report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added

unto you.

Matthew 6:28-29
CONSIDER THE LILIES OF THE VALLEY
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil

not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Matthew 6:19-21
LAY UP YOUR TREASURE IN HEAVEN
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where

thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and

where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 7:7
ASK, SEEK, KNOCK
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Matthew 7:9-12
THE GOLDEN RULE
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall

your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:

for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 7:13-23
GOOD TREES BEAR GOOD FRUIT
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to

destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be

that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are

ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he

that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy

name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:24-27
THE WISE MAN BUILT HIS HOUSE UPON THE ROCK
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a

wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;

and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a

foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;

and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 8:27
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh

intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are

the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:31
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:35, 37-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or

famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
...
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor

things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of

God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Luke 18:13
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote

upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Luke 22:14-20
The Lord's Communion
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I

suffer:
16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall

come.
19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my

body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which

is shed for you.

Matthew 25:34-40
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit

the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a

stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto

me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed

thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have

done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Mark 8
1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his

disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have

nothing to eat:
3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of

them came from far.
4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in

the wilderness?
5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and

gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before

the people.
7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.
8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven

baskets.
9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.

Matthew 7:1-5,12
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall

be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam

that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a

beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to

cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
[THE GOLDEN RULE]
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:

for this is the law and the prophets.

Luke 6:27,28,31,32,33,35
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love

them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even

the same.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward

shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and

to the evil.

Matthew 7:6-29
Knowing a Man by His Works
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they

trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it

shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

[THE WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDER]
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his

doctrine:
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and

towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the

fruitful field be counted for a forest.

16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and

assurance for ever.

18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting

places;

35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and

excellency of our God.

Isa 35:4-10

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with

vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness

shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the

habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean

shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err

therein.

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there;

but the redeemed shall walk there:

10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy

upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus

Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones

received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and

leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they

ability to pierce the human heart and then like The Great Physician, to heal it and make it new...

Rejoice, give thanks, say hallelujah and Amen! God has redeemed His people to live with Him

forever in a place with no more pain and no tears...

TWAIN, Mark
Mark Twain, became morose and weary of life. Shortly before his death, he wrote, "A myriad of

men are born; they labor and sweat and struggle;...they squabble and scold and fight; they

scramble for little mean advantages over each other; age creeps upon them; infirmities follow;

...those they love are taken from them, and the joy of life is turned to aching grief. It (the release)

comes at last--the only unpoisoned gift earth ever had for them--and they vanish from a world

where they were of no consequence,...a world which will lament them a day and forget them

forever."

Mark Twain.

Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song:
Robert Herrick (1591–1674)

How do I love thee?
Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806–1861)

11. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
12. With my lost saints,—I love thee with the breath,
13. Smiles, tears, of all my life!—and, if God choose,
14. I shall but love thee better after death.

Love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books,
But love from love, toward school with heavy looks.
William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
Romeo, in Romeo and Juliet, act 2, sc. 2, l. 156-7.
On leaving Juliet.

Little Eyes Upon You

There are little eyes upon you and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager to do anything you do;
And a little boy who's dreaming of the day he'll be like you.

You're the little fellow's idol, you're the wisest of the wise.
In his little mind about you no suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devoutly, holds all you say and do;
He will say and do, in your way when he's grown up just like you.

There's a wide-eyed little fellow who believes you're always right;
And his eyes are always opened, and he watches day and night.
You are setting an example every day in all you do;
For the little boy who's waiting to grow up to be like you.

For Ever
with the Lord!

"For ever with the Lord!"
Amen, so let it be;
Life from the dead is in that word,
'Tis immortality.
Here in the body pent,
Absent from Him I roam,
Yet nightly pitch my moving tent,
A day's march nearer home.

My Father's house on high,
Home of my soul; how near
At times to faith's foreseeing eye
Thy golden gates appear!
Ah, then my spirit faints
To reach the land I love;
The bright inheritance of saints
Jerusalem above.

I hear at morn and even,
At noon and midnight hour--
The choral harmonies of heaven
Earth's Babel-tongues o'erpower--
That resurrection word,
That shout of victory,
Once more: For ever with the Lord!
Amen, so let it be!

James Montgomery
No. 917 in Sacred Songs and Solos

1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

That Will Be Heaven for Me
J. McGranahan

I know not the hour when my Lord will come
To take me away to His own dear home;
But I know that His presence will lighten the gloom,
And that will be glory for me.

I know not the song that the angels sing,
I know not the sound of the harps' glad ring;
But I know there'll be mention of Jesus our King,
And that will be music for me.

I know not the form of my mansion fair,
I know not the name that I then shall bear;
But I know that my Saviour will welcome me there,
And that will be heaven for me.

Jesus Loves Me!
For old kids...

Jesus loves me this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow;
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

Though my steps are oh, so slow;
With my hand in His I'll go,
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

Though I am no longer young,
I have much which He's begun;
Let me serve Christ with a smile,
Go with others the extra mile.

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song;
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

When my work on earth is done,
And life's vict'ries have been won;
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love.

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.

Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me;
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

Psalm 71:9 Cast me not off in the time of old age;
forsake me not when my strength faileth.

Psalm 71:17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy

wondrous works. 18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have

shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. 19 Thy

righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring

me up again from the depths of the earth.

"Continue in prayer." --Colossians 4:2

It's interesting to note how much of The Holy Bible is occupied with the subject of prayer, either

in furnishing examples, enforcing precepts, or pronouncing promises. We scarcely open the Bible

before we read, "Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord;" and just as we are about to

close the volume, we hear the "Amen" of an earnest cry to God...

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

"Continue in prayer." --Colossians 4:2

If God has said a lot about prayer, it's because He knows how much we need it. So deep are our

needs that until we reach heaven we cannot cease to pray. Do you want nothing? Then I'm afraid

you don't know your own poverty. Don't you have any mercy to ask of God? Then may the Lord's

mercy show you your misery! A prayerless soul is a Christless soul. Prayer is the initial whisper of

the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep

in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honor of a Christian. If you

are a child of God you will seek your Father's face and live in your Father's love. Pray that this

year you may be holy, humble, zealous, and patient; that you may have a closer communion with

Christ, and enter more often into the banquet-house of His love. Pray that you may be an example

and a blessing to others and that you may live more to the glory of your Master. The motto for

this new year must be "Continue in prayer."

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

"Let the people renew their strength." --Isaiah 41:1

Saints who live without a disciplined reading of the Word of God and secret prayer are nothing

more than poor waifs starving for a meal! If we can live without God it is not a divine creation but

a fairy tale dream. If God had created their spiritual life they would wait for Him in prayer like the

flowers wait upon the dew.

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

"Let the people renew their strength." --Isaiah 41:1

Everything on earth needs to be renewed. No created thing continues by itself. Even the trees,

which don't weary themselves with care or shorten their lives with labor must drink of the rain of

heaven and suck from the hidden treasures of the soil. The trees that God has planted only survive

day by day because they fill themselves with a fresh drink of water daily from the ground. In much

the same way a man's life cannot be sustained without renewal from God. Just like it's necessary

to repair the waste of the body by the frequent meals we must repair the waste of the soul by

feeding upon the Word of God or by listening to the preached Word or by the soul-enriching table

of the Lord's Supper. Our graces are so depressed when His sustaining means are neglected!

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

Without constant restoration we are not ready for the perpetual assaults of Satan or the solemn

corrections of heaven or for the strifes within ourselves. When the whirlwind is loosened woe to

the tree that has not sucked up fresh sap and grasped the rock with many intertwisted roots.When

tempests rise in the sea woe to the mariners that have not strengthened their mast or cast their

anchor or sought the safe harbor. If we allow the good part of us to grow weaker the evil part will

surely gather strength and struggle desperately for the mastery over us. Let us draw near to the

feet of divine mercy in humble prayer and we will find fulfillment of the promise, "They that wait

on the Lord shall renew their strength."

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

Jesus Christ is the sum and substance of the new testament. As one of its gifts He is the property

of every believer. Can you estimate what you have received as a gift in Christ? "In Him dwells all

the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Consider the singular word "God" and all of its infinity and

then think upon "perfect man" and all his beauty. For all that Christ as God and man ever had is

yours --out of pure free goodness given to you to be your deeded property forever. Our blessed

Jesus, as God the Son, is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. Doesn't it comfort you to know

that all of these great and glorious attributes of God are completely yours? Does Jesus have the

power? Then that power is yours to support and strengthen you, to overcome your enemies, and

to preserve you even to the end.

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

Our blessed Jesus, as God, is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. Doesn't it comfort you to

know that all of these great and glorious attributes are completely yours? Does Jesus have power?

Then that power is yours to support and strengthen you, to overcome your enemies, and to

preserve you even to the end. Does Jesus have love? Well, there is not a drop of love in His heart

which is not yours. You can dive into the immense ocean of His love and you may say about it all,

"It is mine." Does Jesus have justice? It may seem a stern attribute, but even that is yours, for He

will by His justice see to it that all which is promised to you in the covenant of grace will be given

to you. And all that He has as perfect man is yours. As a perfect man the Father's delight was

upon Him. He was accepted by the Most High. Child of God, God's acceptance of Christ is your

acceptance. Don't you know that the love which the Father set on a perfect Christ He now sets on

you? For all that Christ did is yours. That perfect righteousness which Jesus worked out, when

through His stainless life He kept the law and made it honorable, is yours and is imputed to you.

Yes, Christ is the new covenant.

"My God, I am yours -- what a comfort divine! What a blessing to know that the Savior is mine!

In the heavenly Lamb three times happy I am and my heart dances at the sound of His name."

C. H. Spurgeon adapted by Bill King

Note: Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a great man of God. In 1865, Spurgeon's

sermons sold 25,000 copies every week. They were translated into more than 20 languages. During

his lifetime, Spurgeon is estimated to have preached to 10,000,000 people "(Christian History,

Issue 29, Volume X, No. 1)"
